Project: Doddendaal

Doddendaal – SSH&
Project | 2018-2019

The old former monastery Doddendaal is located right in the centre of Nijmegen. The sustainability of the former Doddendaal monastery in Nijmegen started small and ended in a virtually gas-free student complex. Our partner DKC has delivered a fantastic project here with the delivery, assembly and operational delivery of 500 m2 solar thermal panels on the roof of the complex with heat pumps, buffer vessels and ice buffer coupled to the existing central heating and tap water supply.

In total, approximately 150 student residences here are connected to a micro heat network, and 86% savings have been made on the gas.

This project can be found in the list of most sustainable renovations of RVO:

Project: Westerhelling

Westerhelling
Project | 2019

In the middle of the woods near Berg en Dal lies the former boarding school Westerhelling. The boarding school has since been converted into a beautiful student complex. It is a monumental building, surrounded by a beautifully landscaped large garden. The challenge for our partner DKC was to make the building more sustainable without too many aesthetic changes to the building, due to its monument status. Also, the residents, 180 students, were not allowed to be inconvenienced during the work. DKC was responsible for the delivery, assembly and operational delivery of 500 m2 PV-T panels on the roof of the complex and heat pumps and buffer vessels.
